Refund policy
We want Terlingua Threads gear to feel like a trusted part of your kit, not a gamble. At the same time, weâre a small, self-funded business that tries to keep prices as fair as we canâwithout baking âfree returns on everythingâ into the initial price. This policy is our best effort to balance those two truths.
To initiate a return, please email support@terlinguathreads.com and follow the instructions below. If anything feels unclear, please feel free to email us.Â
Which policy applies?
- Returns & Exchanges (30 days from delivery): For fit, preference, or an item that simply isnât right for you.
- Delivery Issues (arrived damaged / wrong item / missing item): Please notify us within 7 days of delivery so we can fix it quickly.
- Warranty (1 year from purchase): For manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. If a defect shows up within one year, email support@terlinguathreads.com even if youâre past the 30-day return window.

0. Before we get started, a note on ordering multiple sizes at once...
We understand the temptation to order three sizes and send two backâespecially with a newer brand. For a small team, that pattern is hard to sustain: it ties up inventory and cash, and adds shipping/handling that no one really wins from.
If youâre unsure on sizing, please email support@terlinguathreads.com with your height, weight, and a few key measurements (and what sizes you wear in other brands). Weâll give you an honest recommendation to help you land the right size without a lot of back-and-forth.

1. Return and exchange windows
You can request a return or exchange within 30 days of delivery.
After 30 days, we do not generally accept returns, but weâre open to discussing unusual situations.
A note on hemp and fit: Hemp softens and âlearnsâ your body over the first few wears. If you can, we encourage at-home wear to confirm fit and feel before deciding. If you think you might return something, please avoid washing itâwashed items are much harder for us to put back into circulation.
If the wrong item/size was sent, or the product arrives damaged or clearly defective, donât wait. Reach out right away (see Sections 5 & 6).

2. What is eligible for return or exchange
To be eligible, items should be:
- Clean, with no visible stains or strong odors
- Free of tears, holes, and pet hair
- Not heavily worn, altered or washed to the point of obvious fade or damage
- With all main labels intact (including hang tags, although hang-tag stickers may be removed)
We fully support the idea of wearing things in, not out, but if an item clearly shows hard use beyond normal try-on and early wear, we may not be able to take it back.

3. Return fee and exchanges
As a small brand, we cannot offer completely free returns on everything the way big box retailers do.
- Refunds: For returns for refund, we deduct a $10 flat return fee from your refund (U.S. orders). This helps cover the return label, inspection, and processing.
- Exchanges: If you exchange for a different size, color, or product, the $10 return fee is waived. Weâll typically provide the return label and ship the exchange back out with no additional outbound shipping charge (U.S. orders). We offer one fee-waived exchange per order. Additional exchanges may be subject to a label fee.
- If we made a mistake / item arrives damaged / wrong item: thatâs on us. We cover the costs and fix it at our expense. No return fee applies.
- International: Return shipping support may be limited; weâll review case-by-case and offer the best option available.
We know many larger companies offer free returns on everything, but those costs usually get baked into higher prices and a lot of extra shipping and product waste. As a small, self-funded brand, we are trying to be open about the tradeoffs so we can keep quality high for our community, prices as fair as we can make them, and still be here to make the next round of gear for you.

4. How to start a return or exchange
Email support@terlinguathreads.com with:
- Your order number
- The item(s) youâd like to return or exchange
- The reason (fit, preference, etc.)
- Whether you prefer an exchange, refund, or store credit
Weâll review your request and send you a link to our Returns & Exchange portal with next steps.

5. Damaged, defective or wrong item
If something arrives damaged, missing, or clearly not what you ordered, thatâs on us, not you.
- Email support@terlinguathreads.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a few photos.
- Please keep all the packaging and avoid washing or wearing the item beyond quick inspection.
- Weâll work with you to find the best solutionârepair, replacement, store credit, or refund. In most cases we can honor your preference, but we may choose the remedy that makes the most sense based on inventory availability and the nature of the issue.
- No return fee applies to delivery issues.
After the 7-day window, we can still try to help, but our options may be more limited (especially for shipping-damage claims).

6. Manufacturing defects: 1-year limited warranty
If a manufacturing defect appears during normal, intended use within 1 year of purchase, it is covered under our Warranty & Repairs policy.
Email support@terlinguathreads.com with photos and a short description, and weâll take it from there.

7. Pre-orders
Pre-orders follow the same basic rules as regular orders:
- You can request a return or exchange within 30 days of delivery, not 30 days from when you placed the pre order.
- The same 10 dollar return fee applies to refunds for pre orders.
- Exchanges for pre order items are handled the same way as in stock items.
If there is a long delay on a pre-order and your circumstances change before the item ships, email us at info@terlinguathreads.com with your order number and we will work with you.

8. Non-returnable items
To keep things straightforward, some items will be final sale, such as:
- Clearly marked final sale or clearance items
- Gift cards (to be released at a future date)
These will always be clearly labeled on the product page at the time of purchase.
Important: Final Sale items are not eligible for preference-based returns/exchanges, but they are still covered for manufacturing defects under our 1-year limited warranty (to the extent permitted by law).

9. What happens to returned items
We design and build our gear to have a long life, not to be worn once and thrown away. Returned items do not automatically go to the trash. In general, what happens looks like this:
- Like new or very lightly worn pieces:Â These can often be refreshed and put back into circulation as future sample sales.
- Clearly worn but still structurally sound pieces: These may be used for testing, photography, internal wear testing, or donated to local non-profits
- Damaged or heavily worn pieces: These are handled case by case. Some may be cut up for testing and pattern work, others may not be salvageable.
Our goal is to keep as many Terlingua Threads pieces on bodies and out in the world as possible, not in a landfill.
